The exact year of construction of Detif's church, notable for its location being built very close to a large beach and at the foot of a cliff, is unknown.
Despite being one of the smallest churches in the World Heritage Site, its size does not detract from its charm but makes it even more welcoming. The old esplanade in front of the church has been transformed into a beautiful garden, adding beauty to the surroundings.
Inside the church, small wooden boats hanging from the main nave can be appreciated. It is said that these boats were installed as an offering by local sailors who returned alive, adding a touch of maritime tradition to this sacred space.
